Our 5th Annual Golf Classic took place over the bank holiday weekend and it was the most successful one to date. Thank you to everyone who supported it in any way. We are extremely grateful. Presentation of prizes took place in the Whistle Stop, thank you to Pat for sponsoring the event and congratulations to all the prize winners. More on this next week.
Our Juvenile and Junior Opening evening will take place this Tuesday 6th from 7-8 pm.
Places are limited this year so get there early to avoid disappointment.

Virginia Golf Classic
Sincere THANKS to all who entered teams,sponsored tees and helped out at our Virginia Golf Club Classic.Please attend presentation of Prizes at the whistle Stop tonight at 8 pm.There was up on 50 teams entered so a big turnout is expected.
9 Hole Stableford Competition
Another great turnout Wednesday evening for the 9 hole competition .Declan Smith won the men's section with 21 pts. and Pauline Clarke took the ladies section with 15 pts..Hope to see everyone back again next week.

It's the time of year again for our Juniors & Juveniles Summer Programme, which was so successful last year. Come to our Open Evening on June 6th to register. Further details below.
Virginia Golf Club Matchplay Draws
Matchplay New Format/Rules & Handicap Allowances
Open Draw Format for all rounds
Draw for subsequent rounds will take place 1 day after completion date
To be included in round two match must be completed
Were a match has not been played by agreed dates both parties will be contacted by the Competition secretary and a decision will be made on names to be carried forward into next round (By Committee)
No extension will be granted
Singles – Play all holes from stone Tee Markers. The players on the top line of the draw have the honour at the first hole. Handicap allowance is the full difference between the player’s handicaps.
Mens Fourball – Play all holes from stone Tee Markers. The lowest handicap player gives strokes to the other three players, based on 90% of the difference between the lowest handicap and that of each player. Honour on first tee goes from lowest to highest handicap.
Teams on bottom of draw to contact teams on top.

"Junior/Juvenile lessons will commence Wednesday June 7th from 9.30-11 am and will continue each following Monday morning throughout June, July and August.
Open evening for Parents will be held on Tuesday evening June 6th from 7 - 8 pm.
Places are limited so if interested it's important to get your child registered as soon as possible."
Our annual club Classic will take place this weekend- 2nd/3rd/4th June.

The new 9-Hole Stableford competition got off to a great start last night in glorious sunshine.A big turnout of both old and new members made for a great nights entertainment with Alice McGloughlin taking the honours with 23 pts. and Richard Kennedy second with 21 pts. Hope to see everybody back again next Wednesday.

The entry sheets for the club matchplay competitions are posted in the clubhouse. Draw is being made on Monday 15th May.Players can chose there partner for the Paddy Gormley Cup.
