Chestnut Tree Spring League Final Week

Congrats to Alan Rock who just scrapped home to win the individual prize on the last day of the Chestnut Tree Spring League with 45 pts. The winning team and all individual prizes will be announced at the Presentation in the Chestnut Tree at 8.30pm on this Friday the 7th of April. Should be a great night and a big attendance is expected.

 

The Captains' Drive-in is the following Sunday the 9th of April sponsored by Lisgrey house. The Club would like to take this opportunity to wish Captains Sean McEvoy and Moira Blacklock a great day and a very sucessful year.

Well done to Sean Sheridan who won the individual prize on week 5 of the Chestnut Tree Spring league with 43 points.Next week is the final week and it is all to play for ,the presentation of prizes  is in the Chestnut Tree on Friday the 7th of April at eight thiirty where all the winners will be announced.

The Captain's drive-in is on Sunday the 9th of April at 1 pm. Entry sheets are posted in the clubhouse. Please enter your name and handicap on the entry sheet as soon as possible so everyone can be accommodated .Annual Sub is now due and should be paid before the end of March.

Week 3 Mens Spring League

Spring League got back on track last Sunday with another big turnout.  Plenty of high scoring is keeping things tight at the top of the table, well done to Stephen Kockott who won the individual prize with 44 points. A full list of scores and team placings are posted in the clubhouse and below. 

 

This Friday, St. Patrick's Day there will be a mixed single stableford competition.Anyone going away for the weekend can use their score in this competition for the Spring league.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               The Captain's drive-in is on Sunday the 9th of April at 1pm. Mens Club Results January 8th

There was a good showing for this Sundays competition with many peoples New Years Resolution being to prove they are actually good golfers, and the scores seemed to match that resolution. In first place was the Captain himself Sean McEvoy setting out his stall early this year, and showing the rest how its done. In second place was Conor McEvoy with Richard McEvoy in third. What a group, from now on they will be known as the Virginia Golf Club Bee Gee's. Special mention to last years Golfer of the Year James O'Brien for another good showing this week. Can he make it 2 years in a row?

Mens Club New Years Day Results

2017 started with a bang for some members, others played golf. It was great to see so many members on the course squeezed into slightly tighter chinos due to the Christmas excess and on what was a lovely morning for golf. The scoring was as usual exceptional with Stephen Kockott leading the way with 40 points on a count back from Finbarr O'Reilly with 2016's Golfer of the Year starting as he means to go on with 39 points. Well done everyone, heres to more golfing fun in 2017.
